MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN
|
On
behalf of the National University Health System, we take great pleasure
in inviting you to this Asia Pacific Basic Hands-on Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Course and ASEAN EUS Forum
to be held on 9 - 10 Jan 2009 at the National University Hospital,
Singapore.
EUS is fast becoming an indispensable diagnostic and therapeutic tool
in GI endoscopy. This structured course will include a variety of
learning modes on EUS: state-of-the-art lectures, interpretation of
images through video case studies, live case demonstration, and
hands-on training with live animal and wet mount models. We believe
that in the absence of opportunity for hands-on training in EUS on
actual patients, these models are useful teaching surrogates. This
year, the course will also feature two new sessions of 3-D
reconstruction of anatomy, and cytology correlates, which we are
confident, will enhance the learning of EUS. At the end of the course,
you will be rewarded with a valuable experience – not only in
the skills of performing EUS but also in the interpretation of the
images.
